Depression
Anxiety and Depression are among the most common forms of mental disturbance. Depression is a state of mind that results in a low mood. It can affect the way you think, behave, and feel. If you are suffering from depression you may feel sad, anxious, worthless, and hopeless. It is a disease that has many physical symptoms that can either increase or decrease your sleep, affect your appetite and be accompanied by unexplained aches and pains. It is a condition that changes your perspective on the world and can lead to you feeling isolated and alone.
Depression may not always be a psychiatric disorder. It is a normal reaction to certain life events that are traumatic and upsetting. Therapy is a proven method of tackling this state. A relationship that enables you to explore the difficult thoughts and feelings you have can alleviate the isolation you may feel and facilitate your journey to well being. Sometimes a combined treatment of medication and therapy is effective this should always be discussed with your GP.
